GIG
POSTERS
2006–2024
ILLUSTRATION, DESIGN
A particular point of pride for me is having been awarded “Best Gig Poster Designer” in Chicago by the Chicago Reader. I began making gig posters at age fourteen and the practice has stuck with me since. Making posters for bands was my first true labor of love. I did it for free, and then did it for barely any money, then did it for a little money, and eventually did it for free again. It was my favorite work to do. I've lost many of them to time, hard drives, leaky ceilings, and canceled cloud storage accounts but I find and recover them from time to time. Now, in 2024, some of these posters are half as old as I am now and many no longer feel like my current taste, style, or skill level. But I'd like to do my best to keep them all in one place here on this page.
As a gesture of humility, I've included the first poster—and very likely the first piece of design work—I ever made. Circa 2003.
